Giới thiệu
Asst. Prof. Nguyễn Xuân Hưng nhận bằng Tiến sĩ Khoa học Tự Nhiên tại Đại học Lübeck/Trung tâm Nghiên cứu Borstel, Đức (2010), sau khi tốt nghiệp Thạc sỹ Công nghệ Sinh học (2004) tại Đại học Bách khoa Hà Nội và Cử nhân Kinh tế (2003) tại Đại học Kinh tế Quốc dân.
Sau giai đoạn nghiên cứu sau tiến sĩ ở Viện Sinh học Phân tử và Tế bào (IBMC, Strasbourg, Pháp) và Trung tâm Sinh lý bệnh học Toulouse-Purpan (CPTP, Toulouse, Pháp), TS. Hưng gia nhập Vinmec vào năm 2018. Kể từ đó, ông đảm nhiệm nhiều vị trí lãnh đạo, bao gồm Phó Viện trưởng Viện Miễn dịch Vinmec–VinUni (2023–nay), Giám đốc Trung tâm Công nghệ cao Vinmec, và nguyên Giám đốc Viện Khoa học Ứng dụng và Y học Tái tạo Vinmec.
Các đóng góp khoa học của anh bao gồm hơn 70 công bố quốc tế, trong đó có nhiều bài báo đăng trên các tạp chí Q1 hàng đầu như Nature Communications, Science Translational Medicine, EMBO Journal, Blood, PNAS, Journal of Experimental Medicine và Journal of Autoimmunity. Đặc biệt, nghiên cứu thử nghiệm lâm sàng của anh công bố trên Nature Communications (IF:16.6) đã:
(i) góp phần bảo vệ cộng đồng trong đại dịch COVID-19 thông qua việc tiêm chủng thành công vắc-xin cho gần 20.000 đối tượng nghiên cứu;
(ii) dẫn đến việc Nhật Bản và Châu Âu phê duyệt lưu hành công nghệ vắc-xin mRNA tự nhân bản vào năm 2023, mở đường cho việc phát triển công nghệ này trong các loại vắc-xin phòng bệnh khác;
(iii) chứng minh tính an toàn và hiệu quả lâm sàng của một số phương pháp điều trị mới, góp phần đưa nhanh các biện pháp này vào thực tiễn khám chữa bệnh.
Thêm vào đó, TS. Hưng nhận được nhiều tài trợ nghiên cứu với vai trò Chủ nhiệm, bao gồm: 816.000 USD (2024–2026) cho dự án về dấu ấn hệ vi sinh trong chẩn đoán sớm ung thư đại trực tràng, 150.000 USD (2025–2028) cho nghiên cứu về mô tim 3D từ tế bào gốc iPSC, 60.000 USD (2019–2021) từ ICGEB cho nghiên cứu về kháng nguyên tự miễn trong bệnh ngủ rũ, cùng nhiều đề tài khác với tổng kinh phí hơn 1,2 triệu USD.
Ngoài nghiên cứu, TS. Hưng còn có nhiều đóng góp quan trọng trong giáo dục và truyền thông khoa học. Ông là tác giả duy nhất của cuốn sách chuyên khảo “Liệu pháp tế bào miễn dịch điều trị ung thư” (Nhà xuất bản Y học, 2024), đồng thời là đồng tác giả của nhiều chương sách quốc tế. Anh cũng là dịch giả chính của bản tiếng Việt giáo trình Molecular Cell Biology (Harvey Lodish), từng giữ vai trò biên tập viên của website Công nghệ Sinh học Việt Nam, và là đồng sáng lập, nguyên Chủ tịch Hội Sinh viên Việt Nam tại Strasbourg (Pháp).
